With half a century of experience in the United Sates, our brands have become respected and well known for providing premium-quality tobacco products. Dosal Tobacco Corporation, an ISO 9001 certified company, has a Route Salesperson position available in Tampa, Florida area.
The Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Route Salesperson sells tobacco products such as varieties of different cigarettes, e-cigarettes and small cigars, to retail food stores, wholesale grocers, distributors, by performing the following duties:
Responsible for all of the sales activities, from originating leads through close of the sale, in assigned route. This includes all aspects of store and customer service, product handling and transportation, merchandising, and communication. Key goals include sales volume, as measured on a per-store average basis, as well as overall sales in the market area, and customer (account) service and retention. Follows housekeeping, hygiene, sanitation, pest control, and safety practices. Ensures that all activities are followed based on procedures, instructions, etc., as well as ISO 9001 requirements, and FDA, GMP, OSHA, & EPA regulations.

Duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Sells products into all accounts, as appropriate, and accurately implements pricing strategies, including promotional pricing.
Sells product to new accounts, planning the work schedule to include calls on potential distribution outlets.
Increases Sales by building and maintaining positive, productive relationships with customer operations personnel. Resolving product or service problems promptly and ensuring excellent customer relations.
Executes merchandising standards and objectives at specific accounts.
Maintains an accurate record of all transactions using hand-held computer units, invoicing products into PPT, prints twice and gives ones copy to retailer.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment, as instructed.
Monitors competition by gathering information on other products, prices, positioning, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, point of sale promotion materials. Recommends changes in products, services, and policies to Distribution Center Manager.
Manages and accurately tracks inventory of product on delivery truck. Works with warehouse personnel to resolve any discrepancies. Prepares analysis of cash and checks received.
Ensures safety by completing pre-trip safety and maintenance inspections, and maintaining truck as required, completing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment supplies, and evaluating new equipment and processes.
Loads and unloads product from delivery truck, handling product carefully to ensure continued product and packaging quality.
Unloads order into empty carton and delivers to customer, properly rotates product in the customerís storage and/or display area. Counts order with customer.
Maintains customerís area in a clean and neat manner, ensuring that products and packaging are fresh, clean and attractive. 13. Maintains regular communication with appropriate production personnel and ensures an effective partnership between the rest of the organizations.
Working with Distribution Center Manager, uses sales data and account information to accurately forecast sales, and provides this information to production in a timely manner so that production outputs meet sales requirements.
Maintains accurate records by completing appropriate product ordering paperwork, inventory forms, sales tickets, credit tickets, route book and truck inspection forms. Ensures that records are communicated as appropriate to management, headquarters field support, and production personnel.
Turns in all recording and money of previous dayís business. Obtains receipt from Dosal.
Picks up rejected or damaged merchandise if needed.
Collects money from customers, and records sales or deliveries information including Brands, number of cartons and amounts on PPT.
Completes pre-programmed route visiting designated retail sites.
Prepares and prints daily activity summary form ascertaining the number of cartons sold and money amounts from PPT.
Assists Manager inventorying product on van twice a week.
Reviews product quantity, quality and display at retailersí location with retailerís permission.
Listens, documents and investigates customer complaints to resolve matters. To the extent required, communicates such complaints to Distribution Center Manager.
Communicates well with immediate supervisor in a timely fashion, as needed.
Reports issues to Distribution Center Manager for corrective action.

Qualifications:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Motivated Self Starter
Working knowledge of Houston market:
Prior Distributor experience (DSD) i.e.Öin consumer products goods or retail
Prior Tobacco experience a plus
Background knowledge of Smart hand or other hand held devices
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
Ability to use record-keeping software and general computer literacy.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Appropriate driverís license, with no prior accidents in the past three years. Membership of Sales and Marketing Sales Professional Association is preferred. Certified Sales Executive (CSE) is not mandatory but strongly suggested. High School Diploma/GED
A valid CDL-B Driverís License may be required
Federal Regulations require driver to be 21 years of age
Preferred:
2 year college degree or college coursework
3-5 years previous sales experience and/or tobacco/grocery experience preferred
